The Cradle of Human Civilization

A friend has told me that the recent political turmoil in Egypt has greatly affected the number of tourists who visited the country. And while it was just a few days back that a democratically elected president has started assuming office, he believes that it won’t take that long to lure back more tourists again. So I believe that this could be the right time to find tour packages that is all inclusive holidays to Egypt.

That being said, and for all to know that Egypt is not just the home of pyramids and the great Sphinx or the unending vast archeological diggings known to mankind but it is also home to many activities and attractions. Some of which is the growing attention given to the Red Sea Riviera that has several great spots for diving enthusiasts. You can also enjoy kite surfing in the pristine Terrazzina Beach or trying a different way of surfing in the sand dunes of the vast Sahara desert.

Yet you should not forget also that Egypt lies in the Mediterranean that is one of the hottest and sunniest countries in the world. The temperature may go up to the 40’s during summer so you just have to choose which season you want to go and visit Egypt. Or perhaps just be prepared for the hot weather if you want to see the cradle of human civilization during summer.

Korcula is also a place of the finest vineyards and production of unique white wine called 'GRK' in its Lumbarda village and Posip in Cara. Beach-wise, the entire Korcula is surrounded with places having clear and clean waters that are very ideal for cooling off from the excruciating heat of summer. If you’re considering Mediterranean cruises for your much awaited vacation, maybe you’d also consider Korcula as one of your stop-overs.

Traveling a thousand miles

Everyone deserves a break after a long day at work. Everyone knows that and would agree because it is not just good for our health but it also rejuvenates one’s critical thinking. And lately, I’ve been spending so much time bustling in the office and I believe I deserve a fresh air to clear up things in my mind.

Several friends of mine are suggesting spending that time far away from where I am right now. It means I have to travel hundreds, if not thousands, of miles for an adventure holidays Crete out in the beach. I’m sure the modern and ancient Greece lifestyle is fascinating to know while enjoying a sumptuous Greek style meal. I only knew a little about Greece so this could be a good opportunity to exploit and
learn something of Greek civilization.

And perhaps this could be a good gift for me, a deserving treat for another number added in my age. This is indeed a possibility that might happen sooner and that I am seriously thinking of pursuing this plan. Who knows, the next thing that I may be doing is searching the internet for a cheap holiday travel going there and of course not to forget to gather information and reviews about it.

Italy: Land of the Rich and Famous?

World-famous sights, five-star dining and chic waterfronts with stylish marinas and sleek, gleaming yachts. You’d be forgiven for thinking that holidays to Italy were only for the rich and famous - but this glorious slice of land has so much more to offer, and you might be surprised to learn that Italy does luxury holidays just as easily as it does bargain breaks.

Whether it’s exploring the ancient sights of Rome, gazing across the shimmering Lake Garda or sunning yourself on the sandy shores of the Neapolitan Riviera, Italy is a wonderfully diverse holiday destination that can suit every taste and preference under the sun.

One of the best ways to stick to a budget when visiting this gorgeous corner of the world is on a package holiday. Travelling with an established tour operator like Thomas Cook will give you the chance to explore the sights and sounds of Italy safe in the knowledge that all the essentials such as flights, accommodation and transfers are all covered.

As well as typically offering a good deal on travelling and staying in Italy, you can often secure some welcome discounts on top of the package price with incentives such as hotel or room upgrades. If you’ve got the kids in tow, you can usually bag free child places or great deals on family-friendly hotels too.

You should also consider when you go, and where you plan to fly from. Trying alternative departure airports - especially the bigger and more mainstream options - is likely to keep costs down, as is travelling outside of school holidays or at the start or end of the Summer season. Plus, booking well in advance - anything up to nine months or a year - is a great way of bagging a serious bargain. On a package holiday you’ll also be able to pay the cost of your holiday off in installments.

Exciting Island Holidays

Something about the ocean breeze and salt spray makes a holiday on an island something you won't soon forget. Because islands can be found in every ocean and near every continent, island holidays can vary widely. You can lie on a beach or watch whales, study botany, or shop native craft stalls. The possibilities are endless, and these are all up to you when you plan your island holidays.

In North America, some of the more famous islands include the Canadian east coast islands of Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland. Island holidays to these areas will be filled with unspoiled natural beauty, cool, comfortable temperatures, and whale watching expeditions. To the south of these regions is the small island of Bermuda off the eastern coast of the United States. Hundreds of square miles of reef formations surround Bermuda, making snorkeling an interesting activity there.

Europe has islands of all types, which make great spots for island holidays. There, you’d find the isles of Greece that let you peek at clear seas, quiet beaches, olive groves, and the simple life. You could also book Fuerteventura holidays at The Canary Islands, off the coast of Spain, which is another popular tourist spot for Europeans.

Skiing in the French Alps

Have you ever gone on a skiing vacation? It’s not something that’s exclusive for professional and seasoned skiers only. Even if you’re not a pro, you can still ski your heart away in the French Alps. Hence, if you’re considering going on luxury ski holidays, go ahead with it. However, it would still be better if you learned a little something about skiing before you go on your way. That way you can really benefit from enjoying the more challenging slopes.

Of course, preparing for a skiing holiday would be easier if you lived in a place where it snows most of the time. That would eliminate your need to acclimatize with the snow. I’ve read somewhere that once you get to the French Alps you should expect the weather to be pleasant rather than chillingly cold. You’d also discover that the snow is deep and compressed, which allows for ideal conditions for hitting the slopes. Once there, you could book lessons, and a skilled skier would show you how to ace the slopes.

Make sure the instructor would explain the importance of safety on the slopes. Since you would be going down the slopes with other people, it’s important to be aware of what the people around you are doing. Ideally, you should wake up early in the morning and try to hit the slopes every day that you’re there. Remember, practice makes perfect. Of course, there would be other activities waiting for you at the French Alps. After all, you’re not supposed to spend all your waking moments at the slopes. There are fancy restaurants that overlook the slopes, pubs, clubs, and other places to visit especially if you still have some leftover energy after a tiring day at the slopes.

Just make sure that you are physically fit to hit the slopes before you make the firm decision to visit the French Alps.

Escape to Paphos

Has it ever crossed your mind how it would be like to travel to a place rich in culture, tradition, and characters that are atypical of what you’re used to? Perhaps it has, and I must admit that the thought have barged into my thoughts not once but many times already. Actually, traveling to far areas and exploring what these places have to offer me is something that I’ve always dreamed of, which makes me someone who is wanderlust, I suppose. It’s just that dreaming of wondrous cities and countries is something that’s always been second nature to me.

Given the chance, I would like to take advantage of holidays to paphos. If you haven’t heard about it, it’s a coastal city southwest of Cyprus. I’m sure you remember your Greek mythology class back in high school – Greek gods and goddesses, Grecian cities, Aphrodite, and even Grecian-inspired clothing. I’ve seen pictures of Paphos at several websites, and I’d have to say that its crystal-clear waters and awesome seaports literally astounded me.

Aside from that, I did some homework and found out that Paphos is referred to as “the home of Aphrodite,” because it was from the sea of Paphos where the famed Greek goddess is said to have emerged. While the city lost its reputation and position as a major port during the British rule, it is slowly rising from slump and has evolved as a primary center for tourists. Now, you’ll see dams and proper roads in the place. Moreover, hotels, restaurants, and luxury villas were built and developed to make the place more attractive to tourists.

All these only make me more resolved to visit the place soon. In fact, I am already envisioning myself strolling along the coastal waters deep in the night with only the glittering lights coming from sailing ships, docks, and houses shining light on the path I’m treading.
