El Nino In Philippines

Philippines is a country in Southeast Asia in the western Pacific Ocean. My country Philippines is now suffering for what we called 'el-nino'. No rain for long time, so this is very bad for farmers and it results to a humid and hottest day. Hoping for a rain soon.

I remember when i was there, it's really hard to handle and protect against from the sun specially if you are working in the field. As you can see the pictures on how farmers or land suffer when no rains at all.

This will cause for electricity black out, people suffer from heat stroke, lack of water, fire and many more. Hope for regular rain there soon.

Palawan Hopping

My cousin just get back from two weeks vacation in Palawan Philippines with her american fiancee. Got all these pictures from her. Hope me and my family can travel there one day. Take a look at a very nice place.

Our Tagaytay Date

When browsing some of my photo gallery today, what comes into my mind is to share some of perfect views that me and my hubby was been before. Our 1st date in Tagaytay peoples park. Our first time together we we’re still bf and gf that time ,we explore Tagaytay and it was all memorable. That was his 1st visit to me last August 2007.

Then 2009 we got married, the happiest of moment of our life together. We’ve been into places that me and him love’s so much. So good that he took some nice views from Tagaytay, and we we’re blessed also because right after we visited views there the rain pours out. Heavy rain, but thanks GOD we we’re at the car that time going back to our hotel in Manila.

We hire a Van and we paid, if I am not wrong Php 4,500.00 for the two of us w/a driver. Leaving from hotel morning and back at around 7pm.

Take A Ride w/Tricycle

Have you ever try to ride a tricycle? This is exactly used for transportation here in Manila. Specially if your leaving somewhere in province. This picture is taken exactly in Tagbilaran Bohol. Before also this is the only way i used to ride on when going to school or in town proper. Before i don't used to ride a bus, i'd choose more on tricycle. I feel safe than in big buses lol!

But now that i am here in Manila. I tried big buses and tricycle everyday from home to work. So when you travel here in Philippines you can try tricycle. Specially when you will visit provinces.

Bohol Floating Restaurant

Maybe some of you heard about this Floating Restaurant in Loboc Bohol. This is the exact photo from where those foreign visitors love to visit. They consider this place as one of their spots to visit. Surrounded by a very peaceful and cool environment.
People are very friendly and willing to guide you when your at place.

Floating restaurant offers ride that will go around the clean fresh water around Loboc area. This is very romantic place, good for dating and celebrating special occasions. Many says that food are served at your own choice. Yummy! Looking forward to this place.

Bohol Best Spots

Last week i saw in TV that they featured Bohol again with Ms. Eula Valdez. That time i was also chatting with my dearest hubby and i told him that it's featured that time and he's like hope he saw it also. But he's far from here now. And i have here some best spots in Bohol.

Bohol now are listed as top of the spots most visited place in Philippines. Indeed great and i welcome you guys if you want to travel to my very own province BOHOL.

This the Philippine Tarsier which you can visibly found in BOHOL. According to Wiki Tarsiers are small animals with enormous eyes; each eyeball is approximately 16 mm in diameter and is as large as their entire brain.[5] Tarsiers also have very long hind limbs. In fact, their feet have extremely elongated tarsus bones, from which the animals get their name. The head and body range from 10 to 15 cm in length, but the hind limbs are about twice this long (including the feet), and they also have a slender tail from 20 to 25 cm long. Their fingers are also elongated, with the third finger being about the same length as the upper arm. Most of the digits have nails, but the second and third toes of the hind feet bear claws instead, which are used for grooming. Tarsiers have very soft, velvety fur, which is generally buff, beige, or ochre in color.[6]

Now this is the famous chocolate hills. For sure many of you knows this Hills. Perfect indeed during my last visit i did not able to go because of my hectic time schedule.

This one is the new spot in Bohol called "Sagbayan Peak". I wish i can bring my husband and SD,SS there one day! For sure they will like this place cool and fresh air. This is located in Sagbayan Bohol. Cool right?

Getting New Passport

For all who lives here in Philippines here are the guidelines in getting New Passport in DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs). I've been there last week i submitted papers and now i am waiting for the delivery.

Steps On How To Apply For A New Passport/Requirements:

1.) You must be there at the DFA early morning.
2.) Must bring passport size Photo I.D (blue background), I myself took picture there at the DFA because they are strict with the quality of the photo. Be sure it's very clear and the background is really blue.
3.) Bring your Birth Certificate (Make xerox copy on it)
4.) For Marriage: Also bring your Marriage Certificate from NSO
5.) Bring 2 Valid I.D's (Me i presented my Driver's License and Company I.D)
6.) NBI Clearance
7.) Be sure to bring your own Ballpen
8.) Payment for Rush Passport is Php 750.00 (This is for 8 working days of process)
9.) Payment for Ordinary Processing Php 500.00 (This is for 17 working days process)
10.) Pyament of 100.00 if you want your passport deliver to you door to door. I avail this services than going back there to pick up my passport.

For those who are married with Foreigner like me, be sure to have C.F.O Certificate with you before you apply for a passport. DFA will not honor your application unless you will present your C.F.O Certificate. At first i am not aware of this so while i was in DFA that day i also took my seminar and one on one counseling at the C.F.O office in Taft Manila.

For Procedures: You will just fall in line there at the DFA with their staff are guiding you through till you finished the application. Just don't hesitate to ask if you need help. They are very approachable and willing to assists anytime.

So far this steps are what i've experienced last week. So hope this can help for those who are new in getting passport like me.

Where To Travel Safe

My neighbor ask me to search where to travel best for this days. He wanted to get unwind with his life. I will try to check online for today’s travel destination. But I am afraid of the virus which is Influenza A(H1N1). But he’s not afraid of that. He can’t wait but to travel abroad. Crazy! Well, I will just try to search too. Hope to find best travel destination which is free from Swine Virus. Enough for today folks, I have this assignment from my friend to check where he can go!

Bosay Resort

One of my friend spent their company outing at Bosay Resort in Antipolo. A nice place for relaxing , unwinding and spending time together with friends and mates. You can choose variety of cottages that’s fit for your company. Their rentals are not so so cheap but you can be satisfied with cleanliness and facilities.

You can have all the access for their three wide and refreshing pools. If you have kids this is very good place to go. Just that during the time that my friend went there, it was very crowded. The only pool that wasn’t crowded was the one which has deepest level. But she’s also afraid to swim to deepest level hahah! She’s not a good swimmer at all.

9 Waves Resort

Anybody wants to go in 9 waves resort in Montalban Rizal Philippines? Well, it was really unforgettable moment after our wed. Me, my hubby, ver and my family was there enjoying the sunny day at the very nice place. Very good for relaxing and having fun there.

We really enjoyed specially if the waves will play. All are shouting, I was really yelling super load, my hubby was a bit worried of me. He thought I’m gonna sink in because of the wave, am not good in floating not like him he always teach me how to float properly in water. I can swim but not as good as him. Lol! Every time I went back home to my dear province Bohol I won’t forget to have peanut kisses on my bags back to Manila. My officemates really love this one. Even me too is an addict for this one. Very delicious! This is one of Bohol delicacy and this is produced by “Bucarez Food Processing Coroporation” mainly in Tagbilaran City. So guys, when you plan to visit Bohol don’t dare to forget “Peanut Kisses”.

General Philippine Travel Tips

Guys, i got this very nice and informative information which surely helps so much!

*Filipinos (as with most Asians) are mostly conservative. Act, speak and dress modestly, more so when going to the countryside. In most places, wearing shorts, tees, sleeveless shirts, sandals or sneakers are fine - specially in summer.

*Avoid talking about religion and politics specially to people you have just met. Especially when drinking (alcoholic beverages) this sometimes lead to heated arguments or worse.

*If you are going to Mindanao (southern Philippines) where some areas are predominantly Muslims, dress conservatively - specially the women. And don't call Muslims Moros. It's considered rude.

*When traveling overseas, its always a good practice to get a travel health insurance. Travel health insurance offers peace of mind when abroad. Also, check with local health authorities for any concerns when going to remote villages. And drink only bottled water or canned beverages when unsure of the local water supply.

*June to August is the typhoon season. Although the temperature is moderate and hotel rates are lower, it is not the best time to travel specially if you intend to see the countryside or cross the islands by sea.

*From March to May is summer time and is a good time to see the islands with clear skies and calm waters. You are also assured that no flights or ferry boat trips will be cancelled due to typhoons. Although expect the temperatures to occasionally reach 38 degrees centigrade.

*If you are about to do some shopping and are scheduled to visit the Philippines, don't. Do your shopping in the Philippines. Even designer clothes are sold cheaper in the Philippines than the countries they are made in. Many Filipinos living overseas come home to see their families and shop at the same time. The savings oftentimes pays for their vacation.

*Aside from the goods, you can save substantially by having your medical, dental and cosmetic needs done in the Philippines. Ask for referrals from friends (or the hotel concierge for minor services) and choose the best ones.

Trip to the Philippines

Planning your trip to the Philippines:

*Travel light - limit the things you carry with you when you travel. If at all possible, carry just one 9" x 22" x 14" bag with a maximum weight of 20 pounds. If you can manage to limit your bag to this size, you don't have to check-in your luggage at the airport. Upon arrival to your destination, you can go directly to customs while everybody is waiting for their luggage at the carousel. Pack light and pack smart. When choosing what to bring, think in terms of what you can do without rather than what might be handy for the trip.

*When you travel to the Philippines, bring light clothing specially if you're visiting in summer. Cotton Tees, shirts, pants and walking shorts are your best bet. For ladies, a hat with brim will help protect against the heat of the sun. A pair of sunglasses with UV protection is recommended. And if you plan to travel to the countryside or walk a lot, don't forget to bring your comfy sneakers or sandals.

*Note that the Philippines uses 220V of electricity. Most 5-star hotels provide 100V outlets but generally, they are not available, specially in the rural areas. So if you're planning to bring some electronic gadgets, make sure you bring a converter with you.

*Travel tip for smokers: long haul flights can be difficult for smokers. Bring with you a couple of nicotine patches and put one on about an hour before your flight. It is amazing how this small patch can make your craving for a smoke disappear.

Have you ever seen such wonderful view like this? Well, my father is from Bohol, but sad I’m spending most of my days here in manila & hoping one day I can do the same fantastic experience as I’ve read through reviews and some of my friends experiences.
